Born in Kent, Katy Gibson is currently a Birmingham based artist, predominantly working with paint. Her work is a fusion of Traditional context and Contemporary execution, exploring themes of memory, childhood and identity.

 

The works create a melancholy atmosphere through the use of a dampened colour scheme, depicting a faded and transparent appearance. These purposeful qualities stimulate the process of remembering through the representation of  Personal and Episodic Memory.
